Profile
In 1976, I left England and landed in Philadelphia — a city that doesn’t just welcome you, it breaks you in. I didn’t speak the language of “wit or witout,” didn’t know the Birds, and had never heard of a cheesesteak. That changed fast.
My first summer there, I got a job bagging groceries and found myself wandering into a pizza joint next door called Mimmo’s. While everyone else ordered slices. I ordered a cheesesteak. One bite later, I was hooked for life, and literally ate one every day for the rest of that summer.
Philly got into my blood — the grit, the pride, the loyalty. Over the years, I’ve chased cheesesteaks everywhere, from hole-in-the-wall spots to local legends. My sons, Gavin and Aidan, caught the same bug — always searching for the best one, always comparing every bite to that first one.
When Nicole and I moved to Naples, we realized something was missing. No one down here was serving the real thing — not the Florida version, the Philly version. So, we decided to change that. Cheesesteaks.com started with a simple goal: bring the taste of Philly to the Gulf Coast, no shortcuts.
What began as a food truck quickly became a local obsession. Then came our first shop in Naples, where we serve every sandwich the same way we’d serve it to family — real ribeye, real rolls, real love.
Now, we’re expanding to Fort Myers the next stop on our journey. The husband and wife duo, Mike and Nancy, have joined the team and the vision. Both hailing from the northeast states of New York and New Jersey respectively. Different city, same mission: to make every bite remind you why Philly will always be the home of the cheesesteak.
Fort Myers, are you ready?
