My kids often visit the Children’s Museum of Naples when I am at work… but today, as I had the day off, I was able to visit the museum with them.
Now this is not my first time here, but I had not been in a long time, and I forgot how much fun it is.
They started with some brother/sister playing time at the Naples trolley bonding over building bridges and train tracks.
We moved on to the art room where we all did some abstract art, including dad (I love that little chairs hold up a big guy like me )
We went to The Everglades next and walked around looking at all the animals present in it.
Off to the beach they ran, doing some fishing!
All that fun got us hungry, so we stopped at the World Café to get some food. Today’s menu featured Peruvian food, with tamales, ceviche! The yummiest pretend food I ever had.
My son, who loves visiting the supermarket, had to stop to do some shopping, before we went outside for some fun.
Kids played in the water outside before rolling off the highest elevation point in Naples, rolling hill! (Google it)
Finally we went upstairs, where they made paper rockets and we sat down for some Portuguese lessons with a Portuguese/English book we found!
Being someone who loves Naples and SWFL, to see all of our local culture present and than seeing the culture of the world shared with kids at the museum really makes me happy to bring my kids there as it creates a lot of teaching moments.
I find that my kids imagination and creativity grows when they are there and they desire to learn more and more and I find in those moments, opportunities to share some knowledge with them.
An amazing day at the museum with the kids on MLK day is always a good day!
C’mon! What are you waiting for? Bring your kids today!
Felipe Approved () and the entire Pereira family loves it! We can’t wait to go back for some more fun!
Don’t forget to check out the Backyardville area… brought you by Johnsonville, I just thought it had a good ring to it when I renamed Felipe’s Backyard Backyardville
