The History
Black Eyed Pig was born in the Shirley Street location on October 28, 2008. Purchased as The Classic Café, the restaurant was transformed from a long standing breakfast and lunch sandwich shop with a dozen seats, to it’s current capacity of 36 and open for lunch and dinner only.
Our Friend and Mentor
Osburn began his BBQ apprenticeship program with Jerry Vandergrift in 2004. Carl assisted Jerry with prepping and cooking for several catering events and charity functions. Jerry is the second owner of Van’s Pig Stands, which Jerry’s parents founded in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1930. Jerry’s kids now run the operations of all 5 Van’s locations, 86 years later! Thank you so much for the education and friendship Jerry!
Our Food
The Pulled Pork is our House Specialty! Slow Smoked Boston Butts are smoked to fall off the bone to perfection and pulled by hand with no Sauce Added.
The Beef Brisket is a USDA Choice Meat, and The St. Louis Ribs are Center Cut Spareribs that are 2.5 and Down on Weight for a leaner Cut.
Our Chilean imported Baby Back Ribs are always dry rubbed ONLY and weigh in at a meaty 1.5 lb and down. YUM!
